The themes for this year are as followed: (Versus)įriday- Grade vs. Wednesday: Grade wars/staff dress like students. Themes for the week included: Monday: Mathlete vs athlete. The final change for this year is instead of going to the DuBois City Park, United Way Day will be hosted at DCC all of the activities will happen on the athletic fields. Spirit Week at HHS was held from March 14-18, with themed days throughout the week. The students who are nominated will be put in front of the student body on Friday where all the students will vote for who they believe is the most spirited. The next change is that the students who take the themes to the next level and go all out will be nominated by teachers to be Spirit King and Queen, and Prince and Princess. Tuesday followed with Toasty Tuesday, Wednesday continued with Snowed in, Thursday was Thawed out Thursday and Friday was Frozen Friday. Day one of Spirit Week began on Monday with Mathletes vs. Having the week set up like this will not only get everyone pumped up, but give students different options and different ways to approach the day. This past week at MHS, February 13th through the17th, students geared up for homecoming by participating in spirit week. Typically, one theme is assigned for each day of the week, but to keep the competitive nature, that is inevitable due to the powderpuff football game, student council President Riley Meyers and Vice President Alexsis Kosko decided that the theme for the week should be “Versus.” Each day students are given two options, that are polar opposites,which they can choose to dress from. This year for this what is probably the most-highly awaited week, student council decided to change it up. Senior Powderpuff Football Game.” Money is collected in homerooms continuously throughout the week, and on Friday, it all gets donated to the United Way organization. After all the skits have been performed, the students make their way to the DuBois Park, where they enjoy activities, food, music, and at the end of the day, gather around for the high anticipated “Junior vs. The Friday of Spirit Week, the middle and high school students of DuBois Central Catholic partake in what is called “United Way Day.” On United Way Day, sixth through twelfth grade students start of their day by performing the skits they personally created to fit whatever category they were assigned. For 38 years, DuBois Central Catholic has started off the school year by showing their Cardinal Pride during Spirit Week. Spirit Week is an entire week, planned by DCC’s student council, where students are given the opportunity to dress up in the theme of the day. DCC’s student council works endlessly to not only promote the importance of school spirit during this special week, but to also promote the importance of giving back.
